According to National Weather Service office in Fort Worth, rains of 9.19 inches fell in Dells-Forth worth International Airport and around area. The rain started on Sunday and ended at 2 p.m. on Monday continued in 24 hours.
"We have been in drought conditions, so the ground soaked up a lot of it but when you get that much rain over that short a period of time, it's certainly going to cause flooding, and that's what we saw, definitely in the urban areas here," Huckaby said.
“There was quite a bit of variation in the rainfall totals,” Barnes told.
At least one dead due to heavy rains floods roads across the Dallas-Forth worth area. The water entered the rooms of citizens and businesses buildings. Many were rescued.
“A 60-year-old woman died when her vehicle was swept away by floodwaters”, Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said.
